Μαγώγ
Μαγώγ, ὁ indecl. (מָגוֹג) Magog, mentioned w. Gog (s. Γώγ) among the enemies of God in the last days Rv 20:8. The idea and the names are fr. Ezk 38:2–39:16; but there Gog is prince of Magog, and in Rv G. and M. are two peoples (cp. SibOr 3, 319 χώρα Γὼγ ἠδὲ Μαγώγ; 512).—Lit. s.v. Γώγ; also RdeVaux, Magog-Hierapolis: RB 43, ’34, 568–71.
